“The important things in life
are people, not things.”

Let that sink in for a minute.

Now, tell me this… what is your most cherished possession?

For me, it’s my collection of photographs. The ones from before I was born of distant relatives. The ones taken at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house at every birthday and holiday throughout the years. The ones of me and my sisters when we were just little kids. The ones of my family members who live far away. The ones that show who my parents were before they were parents. The newborn and milestone portraits and random just because portraits and the 18,695 photos currently on my phone of my own kiddos. My wedding album, my parents’ wedding pictures, the one beautiful photo of my grandparents on their wedding day that sits on the dresser. The baby book full of pictures of me from before I knew who I was… all of them. It feels as though time is slipping through my fingers and all I can do is grab and hold on to the pictures so that I can always remember Every. Little. Detail.

We can’t keep the important people in our life with us forever. We can’t make our children stay little. All we can do is enjoy every second we have with our loved ones, and fill up all the photo albums.
